At a DUI DOG Rally & Demo Days everyone has a great time. SCUBA divers love to test dive our DUI Drysuits, DiveWear, BCS - Buoyancy Compensators, Weight & Trim Systems and lots more. Check out these photos of divers looking fabulous in their drysuits, enjoying lunch and just hanging out.
Sunday
This morning we were surrounded by tents that had sprung up everywhere. Sleepy looking divers stirred at the familiar sound of the DOG Truck lift gate, and ran to help get suit racks unloaded. With the tent set up in near record time, we were ready in advance of the rush of divers. Thanks to a great group of tireless instructors and guides we were able to get second and third dives in for anyone wanting to do so. It may not seem like much, but it is truly rewarding to hear divers recount their first experiences in a drysuit, right after they get out of the water. Thanks to our instructor/guides we had some really excited new dry divers who couldn’t remember the last time they’d been so alert, comfortable and warm as they prepared for dives 3 & 4! We managed to get Richard and Norm (Windy Point staff) in for their first dry dives, and help out a local instructor whose wet suit <shiver> experienced a “technical” problem. Nothing proves the need for a drysuit better than the SECOND dive of the day in a wet (read:cold) wetsuit.
Many hands made light work of the tent breakdown, and managed to keep the tent on the ground despite the ever present warm Texas wind. Judging by the boats, bubbles and assorted wave runners, Lake Travis was certainly the place to be this weekend, and we’re already looking forward to next year! Thank you everyone for making this event possible. You definitely earned your DOG Rally Crew status, and we hope to see y’all again soon…at Clear Springs in Terrell, TX this November.
