At a DUI DOG Rally & Demo Days everyone has a great time. SCUBA divers love to test dive our DUI Drysuits, DiveWear, BCS - Buoyancy Compensators, Weight & Trim Systems and lots more. Check out these photos of divers looking fabulous in their drysuits, enjoying lunch and just hanging out.
Saturday
It seems that during the night a few new tents had sprouted up all over the point. At 8AM soon to be inducted members of the “Rally Crew” gathered together for a quick briefing, and to get the all important Crew shirt and hat. As always, Crew shirts are never for sale…they have to be earned. With many DOG Rally veterans helping out, things moved along very smoothly and new Crew members didn’t miss a beat as the Test Divers began arriving at 9AM.
Today, Windy Point managed to live up to the name. Oren (DUI Customer Service) “battened down the hatches” in the tent with a little help from Terry (a seasoned DOG Days veteran). With tarps and paperwork taped, pinned, and weighted down, divers continued to check in and out all day. Thanks to Sherry and Glenn for covering the duties under the front tent, and keep us all organized. Troy (our Deck Boss) coordinated the divers and guides throughout the day in the 55 F water.
As usual with job descriptions at DUI, it’s the “other duties as assigned” that makes life interesting. Test Divers enjoyed lunch prepared by DUI VP Faith Ortins. All I can say is that the chaos and billowing smoke that normally accompany my turn at the BBQ were noticeably absent, much to the delight of hungry divers and crew. Diversitea’s new Sweet Tea was a hit, and thankfully Janine (Diversitea Founder) made the trek to Lake Travis to re-supply the DOG Truck for the next few events.
