Dave's DOG Blog
Saturday
Since this was our first event following the month “off” (see definition below) in July, we decided to leave a little extra time to get things set up, and began unloading the DOG Truck at 7AM. Once the dealer “crew” began arriving for the 8AM briefing, things were already well in hand thanks to the dedicated support of Jim (WSA) and “The Three Amigos”, which is actually quite funny since there are 4 of them. That’d be Veronica, Ian, Kevin, and Kenneth, who were all back for their second great year at the DOG Rally. Thanks for coming through for us in a big way!
The weather cooperated (mostly) and the divers were out in force! Thankfully, the local dealer crew were up to the challenge. Ken (Underwater Sports) handled the main tent fitting area. The steady tide of test divers kept the Beach Master (John Boyer) busy all day. John’s appropriately attired assistant Sparky, kept a close eye on the entire proceedings, especially the BBQ area. Thanks again to Jim (Sound Dive Ctr.) and Gordy (Lighthouse Dive Ctr.) for yet another dawn ‘til dusk shift in the water. BTW, Gordy…Susan wants a picture with you next year…and you have to rock the Utiliklit. Hmm…maybe a DOG Crew kilt for the 2008 season?
