Noon: Ever feel like you’re trapped in the movie “Groundhog Day”? Yet another 4 hour flight in the middle seat. At least this time there’s some leg room. The iPod and Bose headset are the now essential traveling companions, helping to pass the time. Luckily with enough mustard, even the $12 airport sandwiches are almost palatable. A little “Royskopp” on the iPod and as suggested, the new “Sugarland” CD keeps one going. Hopefully the rental car will have the right plug to help pass the 2 hour drive north to Brainerd once we land.
Logistics for this event are well in hand, and confirmed after a few excited phone calls with the participating dealers. Judging by our phone conversation, Rick Van Raden (Northwest Divers) is bent on beating Faith’s record for most divers suited up in one Demo Day.
Oookay…I seem to have encountered a little traffic on I-94. How much you ask…I am typing these words on my laptop as I sit here in the car on the highway with the car in park. The car BTW is a Dodge Caliber. After about 6 minutes of driving it, I think I would never want to own one. The engine is obviously designed to power a hobby sewing machine… not one of those scary industrial types we use at the DUI factory! Why did I choose this one you ask? Brittany from DAN had one last weekend, it looked like it had room in the back for our 2 huge coolers and enough groceries to feed everyone on Saturday… and it had the “Aux” iPod jack.
9:45PM – Check in with the guys and make plans to get to the dive site in the morning.
