About the Event & Location
Your event ticket which is $5 (if purchased in advance) or $10 on site, entitles you to participate in all aspects of the demos, enjoy a barbecue lunch, and participate in the raffle. Tickets may be purchased in advance at your local participating dealer, or at www.dui-online.com. Admission to the facility is free. You can find more information about the area at www.metroparkstacoma.org. Since the beach is located in the Point Defiance Park, there is a lot to do for the entire family.

All activities will begin at 9am on Saturday and Sunday. When you reach the location, you will see our two large white tents. The tents will protect us from the weather so, come rain or shine, we’ll be diving!

Air fills are available nearby as there are several dive stores in the area. If you need to rent gear, please call the dive store ahead of time. We will not have tanks, regulators, masks, or weights for rent at the event.

While there is no camping on site, there are camping facilities nearby and there are many motels and hotels as well. Please call DUI if you are having trouble and we will try to help.

Schedule for the Day

Demo Dives: 9am-5pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday
Registration for demo dives will begin at 9am on Saturday and Sunday. Each demo will consist of a dive briefing, equipment sizing, and an opportunity to ask questions after the dive. As soon as there are 2-3 people ready to go in the water, an experienced drysuit diver or instructor will escort you on your dive. If you are a certified drysuit diver, you are welcome to dive with your own buddy. You can do as many dives as you wish. Should you wish to dive a specific type of suit, there may be a brief wait if that specific suit type is out on a demo dive. You may try other DUI equipment as well as the underwater digital cameras provided by Optiquatics. We will ask that you do at least one dive in the drysuit before trying to combine the drysuit and camera on the same dive. All DUI equipment must be returned by 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.

Barbecue Lunch: 11am to 2pm
This is included in the event ticket price and is served to all participants from 11am –2pm. Please plan your dive schedule appropriately. Family members of participants can enjoy the barbecue lunch for only $5. Small children are free with a paid adult.

“How to” Seminars
Field Repair Seminar, Sunday 11am-12pm
DUI staff will demonstrate seal replacement, changing valves and overall tips on maintaining drysuits. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended. To register contact DUI Customer Service directly at 800.325.8439 or CustomerService@DUI-Online.com.

Underwater Digital Cameras and video from Optiquatics
Demos will also be held Saturday and Sunday and will be available for all participating divers. This is a great activity for DOGs who bring friends to try DUI products. Your images will be copied onto a CD (for FREE!) so you can take home and share with friends and family.

Special Opportunities for DOGs
DOGs will be given first preference for Optiquatics underwater digital camera and video demos. DOGs who bring a friend with them to test dive DUI products will receive a FREE DOG neoprene mask strap, and commemorative DUI Test Diver hat upon presenting their equipment and event ticket.

Door Prizes for All Participants
All divers who complete the demo will get a commemorative DUI TEST DIVER hat and have their names entered into a drawing for more prizes. DOGs can get a hat upon presentation of their DUI equipment.

Dive the World with DUI
New this year! All participants including staff are entered to win dive trips donated by dive operations around the world. We will give away smaller prizes at each event with the grand prizes of free trips with the Nautilus Explorer and Optiquatics being given away at the end of the year.

Things to Bring
  • Basic scuba equipment including mask, snorkel, open heel fins, regulator with octopus and gauges, tank, weights, BCD, and cold water hood and gloves. We also have DUI hoods, BCS Systems and Weight & Trim systems available for demo. You will need to supply your own weights or rent them from a nearby dive store.
  • While you are welcome to bring undergarments of your own, we will have Polartech® PowerStretch®, Thinsulate™, Thinsulate™ Ultra, Thinsulate™ LiteLoft™ and ActionWear garments to test dive as well as booties to wear on your feet under the drysuit.
  • Diver certification card and credit card for deposit
  • Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring your own favorite snacks, drinks, etc.
  • Cameras are a great idea. We will be happy to take pictures of you and your friends.
